Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information the Pacific Resilience Institute collects, why we collect it, how we store it, and the rights you have.

Last updated: 2026

1. Who we are

Pacific Resilience Institute ("PRI", "we", "us") operates this site and issues professional certifications across Asia-Pacific. Our legal entity details are published in the site footer.

2. Information we collect

  • Information you submit via enquiry, application or session-request forms: name, work email, organisation, country, role, and free-text messages.
  • Membership and credential data: membership number, certifications held, recertification status.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, set via essential cookies.
  • Optional third-party cookies: Google Translate sets cookies in your browser when you change the site language. You can decline these via the cookie banner.

3. How we use it

  • To respond to enquiries and process applications.
  • To administer certifications, recertification, CPD records, and the public credential register.
  • To send transactional communications (exam scheduling, certificate issuance, recertification reminders).
  • To send newsletters where you have opted in. You may unsubscribe at any time.

4. Legal bases

We rely on contract (to deliver certification services you have applied for), legitimate interest (to run the institute and improve our offering), and consent (for newsletters and non-essential cookies). Specific bases under PDPA (SG), Privacy Act 1988 (AU), PDPO (HK), GDPR (where applicable) and PIPL apply depending on your jurisdiction.

5. Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share limited data with sub-processors: our hosting provider, our email delivery provider, and accredited proctoring vendors for exam delivery. All sub-processors are bound by data processing agreements.

6. Retention

Application data is retained for 24 months from your last interaction unless you become a member, in which case it is retained for the life of your membership and 7 years after, to support certification audit obligations.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, correction, or deletion of your data, and may withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time. Contact us at privacy@pacificresilience.org.

8. International transfers

Our backend is hosted in the Asia-Pacific region. Where data crosses borders to a sub-processor, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
